Uncertainty Investigation of Precipitation and Temperature Scenarios for the Sira Basin under Climate Change Impact

چکیده مقاله:
Results of assessment of the future climate change impacts is associated with some uncertainties. Considering the range of uncertainties increases reliability of the results. In this study, climate change impacts on daily precipitation, maximum and minimum temperature of Sira basin are assessed using LARS-WG model, for 2036-65 period. Accordingly, uncertainty of new emissions scenarios (RCP2.6، RCP4.5، RCP6 و RCP8.5) of HadGEM2 and climatic variability are investigated. Climate variability is a major source of uncertainty which is ignored in most previous studies. Based on the results, for precipitation, the range of the future scenarios have considerable overlaps with the historical ranges. So, it cannot certainly be concluded that whether precipitation increase or decrease in the future. But in the mean of the possible scenarios, it is expected that annual precipitation will change between -9% to +1% in the future. About temperature, the range of the future temperature scenarios have no overlaps with the corresponding historical ranges, and there is a grate certainty for temperature increasing in most of the months, and change in the seasonal cycle of temperature. In the mean of the possible scenarios, it is expected that average temperature will rise between 2.1 to 3 ºC in the future.

investigating spatiotemporal variations of precipitation and temperature over iran under climate change condition considering aogcm models and emission scenarios uncertainty
climate change impacts on precipitation and temperature world-wide are not yet well understood (especially for precipitation), due to their complexity and regional variability. in this study in order to explicit the impact of climate change on precipitation and temperature in iran, 15 aogcm whose greenhouse gases scenarios ran under a2, a1b and b1 were used. monthly precipitation and temperatur...
متن کاملClimate change scenarios for temperature and precipitation in Aragón (Spain).
By applying a two-step statistical downscaling technique to four climate models under different future emission scenarios, we produced future projections of the daily precipitation and the maximum and minimum temperatures over the Spanish region of Aragón. The reliability of the downscaling technique was assessed by a verification process involving the comparison of the downscaled reanalysis da...
متن کاملRegional precipitation and temperature scenarios for climate change
To investigate the consequences of climate change on the water budget in small catchments, it is necessary to know the change of local precipitation and temperature. General Circulation Models (GCM) cannot provide regional climate parameters yet, because of their coarse resolution and imprecise modelling of precipitation. Therefore downscaling of precipitation and temperature has to be carried ...
متن کاملProjections of temperature-related excess mortality under climate change scenarios
Background Climate change can directly affect human health by varying exposure to non-optimal outdoor temperature. However, evidence on this direct impact at a global scale is limited, mainly due to issues in modelling and projecting complex and highly heterogeneous epidemiological relationships across different populations and climates. Methods We collected observed daily time series of mean...
متن کاملPrecipitation Extremes Under Climate Change
The response of precipitation extremes to climate change is considered using results from theory, modeling, and observations, with a focus on the physical factors that control the response. Observations and simulations with climate models show that precipitation extremes intensify in response to a warming climate. However, the sensitivity of precipitation extremes to warming remains uncertain w...
متن کاملRegional Climate Change Scenarios for the Carpathian Basin
The IPCC TAR (2001) suggests that Southern and Central European countries may become highly vulnerable to global warming. In the frame of the Hungarian national climate change program, adaptation of regional models with fine horizontal resolution (10-25 km) is in progress. Since detailed simulations and evaluation of the final results are not available yet for the Carpathian Basin, results of t...
